Chaud Juice TherapyMy passion for juicing was discovered unexpectedly and at a dark time when my family found out my aunt was diagnosed with colon cancer. I started looking up natural methods of healing (specifically researching natural methods for healing cancer) and juicing kept popping up everywhere. I dived in and really got deep into researching the healing benefits of raw fruits, veggies and herbs. It was fascinating to me and I literally had that cliche moment where it just "clicked".

I knew this is what I wanted to do. When I saw the hope it brought to my aunt to be armed with information she could use daily to help herself get well, I wanted that for everyone. I think it's key to know the benefits of fresh fruits, vegetables and herbs and in particular, fresh fruit, herb and vegetable juicing. My opinion is that using nutrition as a preventative form of healthcare should be the mainstream. Not a pill for every ill, not suppressing symptoms, not cutting or burning the problems out, but if possible, fixing the root cause of the issue. Your body can do miraculous things when it's given the right fuel....things it recognizes, things it knows how to use. So is juicing only good for people who are sick or trying to heal from disease? No. Whether you’re into health, fitness or both, juicing brings great benefits. It boosts energy, cleans and nourishes the body and definitely enhances performance whether in the gym or on the field. Fresh juices are like natural nutritional supplements in the raw. I think a lot of people question if it's even necessary to juice, often wondering why they wouldn't just blend everything together and get the fiber too? I never like to pit juicing and blending against each other, because they are totally different and each one has their own unique benefits. 

Juice for digestion

When it comes to juicing, it's about the sheer amount of bioavailable nutrition you can fit into a single glass that makes it really special... this is also what makes it so perfect for detoxifying and healing. No matter how hungry you are, it would be tough to eat 20 carrots, 1 bunch of kale, 1 bunch of spinach, parsley and cilantro, a few cucumbers, a few apples etc. All of that is easily drinkable with juicing and because the fiber is removed, those nutrients are quickly absorbed within minutes. When your body has to extract nutrients from the fiber manually, it's a lot of work, and for some, if your digestive system is not functioning well due to gastrointestinal issues, the absorption rate can be low.

A question I get often is "how do I start?" Juicing is actually really easy to get into. Don't get overwhelmed by thinking you have to put a million ingredients into one juice to get any benefit. In fact simple juices like carrot-apple-ginger, or carrot-spinach-kale or kale-spinach-cucumber-celery-lemon are very powerful, so my answer is always, start simple. Buy a juicer that's in your price range and get used to juicing daily. Get used to the process and how you like to do things. Just one juice a day can be extremely beneficial and provide awesome benefits, and if you want to, you can work up to more juices per day from there.

As far as the types of juices you should make, I always suggest everyone incorporate a green juice into their daily regimen. 

This is where you’re going to get the most bang for your buck because greens are the most nutrient dense foods on the planet. Green juice is energizing, alkalizing, detoxifying and full of vitamins, minerals, anti-oxidants and other highly beneficial phytonutrients. Not only that, but green juice contains chlorophyll which builds blood, destroys bacteria, protects against carcinogens and so much more! If you only make one juice a day, DRINK GREEN!

Fruit juices however have their benefits as well. You don't want to be juicing fruits exclusively, but a nice fruit juice is quite a treat and provides some wonderful benefits too. Fruit juice has an abundance of enzymes, vitamins, minerals, antioxidants and phytonutrients that are not to be missed out on. Once you get used to having juicing as a part of your daily routine, you can start getting quite creative and designing some really fun recipes. The Juice Life is one that if lived daily, brings an incomparable vibrance to your body and soul. That's why it's a daily necessity. It's that simple!
