Wall Squats: 8 minute wall squat

The wall squat is a great exercise to strengthen the legs and buttocks and is often used as training for skiers and power-lifters. This is a brilliant exercise to do on the go, few spare minuted in a lift or watching TV and fancy a stretch out during the ad breaks? Put your quadriceps strength/ endurance to the test and hold a static (isometric) squat against a wall for 8 minutes. To perform a wall squat you need to slide down the wall and ‘sit’ with your knees bent at a 90 degree angle. If you’re not quite ready for the full 8 minutes, practice frequently, slowly increasing your time. This challenge is best performed in a group or with a partner, as the competitive streak inside you is guaranteed to push you that little bit further....

Contributorbronze Yenny G After training for a short while at the gym I was nicely surprise to see that I could do this exercise without to much difficulty. I definitely love the LOVE the wall squats challenge and I think I'll probably try it with some weights too =)
