Wendy N 4 mins.
The wall squat is a great exercise to strengthen the legs and buttocks and is often used as training for skiers and power-lifters. This is a brilliant exercise to do on the go, few spare minuted in a lift or watching TV and fancy a stretch out during the ad breaks? Put your quadriceps strength/ endurance to the test and hold a static (isometric) squat against a wall for 8 minutes. To perform a wall squat you need to slide down the wall and ‘sit’ with your knees bent at a 90 degree angle. I found a great site that gives more information on the wall squat, variations and progressions http://www.exercise-to-a-healthier-life.com/wall-squats.html. If you’re not quite ready for the full 8 minutes, practice frequently, slowly increasing your time. This challenge is best performed in a group or with a partner, as the competitive streak inside you is guaranteed to push you that little bit further....

“I had been trying to complete this for the past three months one step at a time. Finally I was able to do two sets of 8 minute and a final one of 10 minute this morning. Loved it....”

Keli S Hmm ... this exercise has been quite difficult for me. I needed to miss this challenge out yesterday as my legs were still recovering from doing this two days ago. My other challenges have quite a lot of leg stuff/movements going on which only adds to the intensity so this evening while doing this challenge I found I was having to take intervals every 2 mins just to stretch out my quads... taking baby steps with this task/challenge :)
Keli S I found this exercise quite tough. When I registered with Tribesports I clicked on a few challenges but only to look at the pic/diagrams of each exercise, not realising that I have just taken on a task/challenge lol. Anyway because I didnt want to strain or over do anything first time round I decided to do 4mins of this exercise first then continue on and complete my other challenges and end with the other 4minutes., Im not sure if this is allowd or if its cheating alittle but if anyone has any ideas please hit me up!
ps: legs were trembling badley doing this :D
