Do all those that claim there going to attempt this on a fixed gear bike realise how long it would take you, 100 miles is not for the fair hearted. Even on a proper Road bike with a decent riding ability your look...

I really want to have a good crack at this challenge but wonder if I am scuppering my chances with one gear. What is your weapon of choice for a century ride? For those that have done it how long did it take and what was the terrain like?
Caro B I Cycled 102 miles on 29 May with Lavinia and Jane. We cycled from Richmond to Windsor, Henly and Marlow. It took me 7.5 hours
