Peter B Did this on 22nd August during my vacation in Rio de Janeiro. 5K in the morning and 5K more in the evening. Beautiful views wherever you looked... Awesome =)
Go for a run over sunrise and again over sunset of the same day. One of the best parts of running is the scenery, and what is better than getting out there when the sky is ablaze with beautiful colours. Run east in the morning and west in the evening to get the most of it.
Dawn and dusk Challenge rules
- Run at sunrise and at sunset on the same day
- Not all types of physical activity are suitable for everyone. Users take Challenges and training advice at their own personal risk.

“Completed this last week with the same run. Started our run into the Routeburn trail at dawn and didn't come out til 8 hours later as it went from dusk through to dark. Might not achieve that one again but I think and hope I can push complete for this challenge with the one run:) ”

Boxing Day. Couldn't think of a better today to do this challenge after all the food I have gorged this xmas period.
dusk run - 4.7 miles in 45 mins and 25 secs
Brian K Even though I was tired, and my calves were still a little sore from the run this morning, I pushed myself to complete this challenge. This was a good challenge.
Vincia S By the time I finished it was dark out felt great! And now to set myself another challenge!
Rob R encouraged this.

Morning! Ran the dawn run this morning. Hope to fit in the dusk run tonight.
Jamie C Really have every intention of getting to this one but need to wait until Autumn. Sun is rising now at 4:30 AM and setting at 10 PM.... My 70 hour construction weeks just wont let me stay up that late!
Wayne S Should nail this one tonight, done the morning run at 5.30am and planning the dusk run at about 8pm
Michael M Didn't happen today due to parental taxi duties :-/ Birthday run tomorrow then will retry on the Bank Holiday Monday
Callie C can push complete but i did bike dawn and dusk in one day. loved the biking from dark into dawn with the sound of the birds waking up. had moon above and the sun coming up as well. Beautiful. have to do this running though to be honest to push complete :)
Lorain R I'm usually getting into my pajamas this time of night, but instead if being in bed at 7:30 p.m. tonight, I'll be on a run to complete this challenge. I don't usually run in the evening, either, because I don't sleep well after strenuous exercise. This challenge will definitely be a stretch for me but I'm grateful to be able to do it!
Bruce B Just a note: I did this in Yukon Canada when the sun set and rose within 40 minutes. Does that count... not.
Graeme L Sunrise in London. 350 mile journey. Sunset near Linlithgow.
As the sunset wasn't anything special I've added a bonus pic of a swan in the dark :o)
Shantanoo B Finally managed to tick this off.. both the runs were on road. No treadmill-ing there. :D
Why not ask for some advice from other Challenge takers, or read some of the Challenge guides first?OK, I'll keep working at it!
