Do 20 clap press-ups in one go

Does exactly what says on the tin! Clap press ups are a press up variation that focuses on rapid contraction and explosive energy and power in order to force your body to temporarily leave the ground. Push yourself high enough off the ground that you are able to clap hands and land again in time for the next rep.

An excellent exercise for strength and power in your upper body.

Do 20 clap press-ups in one go Challenge rules

  1. Keep your back straight
  2. Nice loud clap
  3. Nose must touch the floor
  4. No resting between reps
  5. Not all types of physical activity are suitable for everyone. Users take Challenges and training advice at their own personal risk.

Lisa M Do 20 clap press-ups in one go Challenge

Contributorgold Lisa M @shantanoo - i've managed 20 girly ones (knees were 3/4's of the way back). The last 5 were really tough - will keep practicing these and your tip for the slow/explosive regular press-ups - hopefully i'll get there soon. Thank you, great advice :) Think I might/you should set a challenge for the girly clap press-ups - it might help others!

good to hear those workouts are working for you. however dont do the slow/explosive push-up more than 2 days a week. and what an intriguing idea regarding girly clap push-up.. as a stepping stone to lead up to the regular one.. I'll create it ASAP. :-)

It's been a long hard slog. I was given the all clear to exercise again in May 2009 and If I try to do 1km an hour on the treadmill now it feels achingly slow, whereas back then it just ached :~) That's why I keep a log so I can track my progress. I think this site is going to be my best tool. I have so many things to work towards and will start pushing myself more and more as I get stronger

Contributorgold Nick B Completed this last night thanks to the excessive pressure exerted by the Welsh State Circus double act of @marthafox and @zoobenny. Managed 17 on the first attempt, 13 on the second attempt and finally at a little past 21:00 hours we had result.
