Does exactly what says on the tin! Clap press ups are a press up variation that focuses on rapid contraction and explosive energy and power in order to force your body to temporarily leave the ground. Push yourself high enough off the ground that you are able to clap hands and land again in time for the next rep.
An excellent exercise for strength and power in your upper body.
Do 20 clap press-ups in one go Challenge rules
- Keep your back straight
- Nice loud clap
- Nose must touch the floor
- No resting between reps

Lisa M @shantanoo - i've managed 20 girly ones (knees were 3/4's of the way back). The last 5 were really tough - will keep practicing these and your tip for the slow/explosive regular press-ups - hopefully i'll get there soon. Thank you, great advice :) Think I might/you should set a challenge for the girly clap press-ups - it might help others!
