This is the 33rd year of the National Lottery Dublin Marathon, which is run through the historic Georgian streets of Dublin, Ireland's largest and capital city.
The reaction of many thousands of spectators lining the city streets for the event has been largely responsible for the success of marathon down through the years. It's no wonder that the National Lottery Dublin Marathon is internationally known as the 'Friendly Marathon'.

Thank you Brenda! The legs are stiff & sore today, but otherwise I feel great! The spectators were amazing handing out banana's, orange pieces, sweets, roaring support & fantastic banners as u can see from the example above! ;-) conditions were perfect too, just a bit chilly.

Irfan Q Well done Kevin, I saw you when you passed me in 18th mile. I was broke in 22nd mile and realised the tiredness of a marathon and one ultra marathon I did in last three months before the Dublin one. I was aiming for 3:20 but I did last 3 miles in 33 minutes. But anyway no excuses its all part of your race. Well done anyway
Thanks Jane but yesterday I was in shocked after finishing line, never imagined that I'll take this long to finish. But happy that at least I managed to finish
Jane H encouraged this.
Thanks Steve, yes I to understand that you cannot run every race at your best but I think it was a peer pressure because 30 of my clubmates were running yesterday and 4 of them took over who never finished ahead of me. Also I ran Newry(a bit hill) marathon 3:27 and our club's ultra-marathon(50K in 4:07) since June. I am sure that I never recovered 100% from those monstrous runs. But thanks for encouraging me.
