Laughter is the Best Medicine

A four year old laughs 300 times a day and a 40 year old only 4 times. Many studies have been done on the optimum number of times we should laugh per day and it ranges from a baseline of 17 times to a high of 100 times. It doesn't really matter - take this challenge for the next week and just committ to laughing more.

A good laugh and a long sleep are the best cures in the doctor's book. ~Irish Proverb

Alyona T Laughter is the Best Medicine Challenge

Contributorgold Alyona T A couple go for a meal at a Chinese restaurant and order the 'Chicken
Surprise.

The waiter brings the meal, served in a lidded cast iron pot. Just as
the wife is about to serve herself, the lid of the pot rises slightly
and she briefly sees two beady little eyes looking around before the lid
slams back down.

'Good grief, did you see that?' she asks her husband.
He hasn't, so she asks him to look in the pot. He reaches for it and
again the lid rises, and he sees two little eyes looking around before
it slams down.

Rather perturbed, he calls the waiter over, explains what is happening,
and demands an explanation. 'Please sir,' says the waiter, 'what you
order?' The husband replies, 'Chicken Surprise.'

'Ah! Sorry about this mix up,'says the waiter, 'I must have brought you the Peeking Duck!'

Sue B Laughter is the Best Medicine Challenge

Contributorgold Sue B My mom and myself had such a good laugh yesterday. I shared a very funny true lifestory with her that a good friend once told me. He is a world traveller and the stuff that he sometimes see is just so crazy. ;-We always have our moments when she comes to vissit. She once asked my dad were her blue jelly beans was, he said he had no idea. I asked him, Dad just stick your tongue out. He is so funny and such a sport. He did and whalaa... a blue tongue. We laughed with the tears streaming! :-))))))

Catherine W Laughter is the Best Medicine Challenge

Contributorgold Catherine W Well.........I think I'm funny so I laugh a lot....mostly at myself. :P
Ask my 14 yr old if she thinks I am and she may agree....but with a slightly different perspective.
Quote "You're such an @$$, Mom." (said either with a big goofy grin or through a bout of the giggles :D)

Lisa (Mc Alister) P Laughter is the Best Medicine Challenge

Contributorgold Lisa (Mc Alister) P I went out to hit some tennis balls with my 3 boys last night. We tend to be not very serious. So, we required that every time you hit the ball you had to make a distinctive grunt. I got so tickled I couldn't concentrate!

Contributorgold Claire Boo L "Laughter is the sound of the soul dancing, if that is so, my soul probably looks like Fred Astaire "

I love this quote, I love to laugh each and every day of my life. Even tho at the moment life can be a lot stressful with my Mum's treatment, we find ways of laughing at things. Humour really does help.

Jennifer R Laughter is the Best Medicine Challenge

Contributorgold Jennifer R Today my daughter and I set out to see a movie...well, she is six, so you know the kind of movie we ended up seeing was animated...Ice Age to be exact. Well, I wasn't thrilled at first (I really wanted to see Brave) but since it was her choice, Ice Age it was. It started off cute and I had a few chuckles, but I quickly noticed that very few people laughed. The adults might make a little noise or snicker here and there, but no laughing. At one point, I started to feel a little self conscious about how much I actually was laughing...then, I remembered this challenge!!! We laughed and laughed like a couple of 6 year olds! I can promise you, that movie was that much better because of it!
