Losing a stone in weight isn't necessarily for everyone, but if you know you are carrying some excess weight (more than a stone), you should be aiming to burn fat and lose a stone as a good target.

Take it steady and dont't resort to drastic changes that you won't be able to keep up, instead look to make sustainable changes to your lifestyle that will last in the long term.

Recent advice

“I thought it was my mission impossible. Yet, I've made it and I'm so proud of myself. Now I need to face another stone. You know what is the best? I bought 2 dresses which were too small for my cousins wedding. Today they both fit me. Isn't it wonderful?! I can't wait to put amazing clothes. there is a long way for me. but many small steps will shape my biggest success:-) This I also wish to you.”

Fiona M Lose a stone in weight Challenge

Contributorsilver Fiona M Week before last I had put on 4lbs despite exercising daily. Happened to be visiting the doctor and asked her advice. Was told to drink 3 litres minimum due to the exercising and warm weather!! Was sceptical but followed to the letter and on Saturday I had lost the 4lbs again!! Back on track!! :)

Cloda R Lose a stone in weight Challenge

Contributorsilver Cloda R I am about nearly there.. I have found a particular app really helpful .. mynetdiary.. as I was fooling myself that little piece of cheese or the glass of wine didnt really count.. I dont follow a particular diet, just try and eat as healthily as I can .. If I want something.. I eat it.. but I now plan what exercise i need to do in order to burn it off.. people are really starting to notice and I feel the best I have in years..but I know I have at least another 1.5 stones to go to be my ideal weight.. but I feel I am in the right place to achieve this... good luck every one

Elmarie D Lose a stone in weight Challenge

Contributorsilver Elmarie D I am very frustrated at the moment with my transformation.
I have lost 1.8 kg in 8 weeks.
Decrease my body fat % with 0.8% in 8 weeks.
Increase my muscle mass with 0.5 %
Lost in total 12.5 cm; Chest 4 cm, Middle 4 cm, Hips 3.5 cm, and Thighs 1 cm in 8 weeks.
My weakest area at this stage is my eating. I eat when I am hungry and sometimes when I am busy I completely forget to eat. This coming week I am going to force myself to eat 5 small meals. The difficult part for me is my sources of protein as I do not eat red meat.
The training is the part that I like but I have to commit that I need a training partner to help me when I do strength training just to go that extra mile with safety and proper form.
I am happy because I have lost weight and I have increased my muscle mass % but I have expected larger numbers.
I have 4 weeks left to achieve my goals.

Kelly A Lose a stone in weight Challenge

Contributorbronze Kelly A 68 :) although tis is not where I wanted to be I am very happy with effort so far as I was hit with severe tonsillitis for a week so was unable to do anything, but that went hand in hand with not being able to eat anything either :). My fitness pal is my best aid in this process It allows me to think ahead and if I know I want to enjoy something later in the day I can accommodate for this by making better choices earlier.
