No Excuses

Give up your excuses. Send them packing and tell them they’re fired. You no longer need them. A lot of times we limit ourselves because of the many excuses we use. Instead of growing and working on improving ourselves and our lives, we get stuck and lie to ourselves, using all kind of excuses – excuses that 99.9% of the time, are not even real.

Katy D No Excuses Challenge

Contributorgold Katy D I have been totally bummed out because I can't run due to a stress fracture in my foot. I was given a boot to wear for 4 weeks and was told that I could swim for cardio and then I asked about yoga...gentle stretching and all...and he said I could do any exercises as long as I can do them with "das boot" on...so NO EXCUSES!!

Kirsten M encouraged this.

Oh Katy that's tough and no doubt sore, get well soon and 'keep das boot on'

Although I am "chomping at the bit" (pun intended...haha) to get back running because I so wanted to do the Shamrock Marathon in March...I am going to take my time, since it was my gung-ho attitude that got me injured in the first place. May do a half marathon and possibly the Tough Mudder in June, but no other long distance races til November :)

Kirsten M encouraged this.

Stephanie M No Excuses Challenge

Contributorsilver Stephanie M I just get up and go no, not too much thought into it. Today it was raining - normally that would have meant the OLD me would have stayed home, the NEW me took an umbrella.. off to workout I went.

Dave W No Excuses Challenge

Contributorgold Dave W I have chosen to workout every day in July and some days have been quite tough. The extremely hot weather has made it very easy to make excuses, over the past week or 2. Instead I have given myself reasons to train, not excuses not to !

Gem W No Excuses Challenge

Contributorgold Gem W I want to workout at least 6 times per week... I had to change it from "6 days per week" to "6 times per week" because of work. Yesterday for example, I tried to get up at 4am to workout, but ended up sleeping through my alarm and then the day was long from there. Left home around 8am and didn't get back until about 9pm. So, instead, I worked out this morning (at 4:30), leaving this afternoon (after class) to do some cardio. A two-a-day. :) Gonna be a long week, but I'll make it. :)

Lolo J No Excuses Challenge

Contributorbronze Lolo J I threw my excuses out of the window. I changed my attitude. I set new goals for myself. I could wallow in self pity for the bs I have been through, some of it recently. But doing that was just dragging me down. I want to move forward, not stay stuck in the past re-playing things that I can't change.

I'm good at both.... ;) Although I make excuses, I still get things done. The excuses are usually just more fun.
