Running 5k in under 30 minutes is the first time for distance goal you should be working towards as a beginner runner. Some might be able to do it first time round but for most newcomers it might take a little bit of training before you can run a 5k.

Mark H On Christmas Eve I ran a 'legua' (Spanish equivalent of a league and a bit) 5.572km with a 1.5km hill just for good measure in 29.49 minutes. So this is a done deal.
Jenny C i reached my goal of a new parkrun pb by recording 21.34, that's the fastest I've done for years and so happy!
Alex D 30:07 tonight. So close!! I ran so hard for the line when I realised how close I was but could not quite do it. I never thought I would be that close and hadn't looked at my watch! Next time!
