Running 5k in under 30 minutes is the first time for distance goal you should be working towards as a beginner runner. Some might be able to do it first time round but for most newcomers it might take a little bit of training before you can run a 5k.

“I used to run cross country. My team was very serious into running. It has given me a passion for running for what could last a lifetime. Although I'm not as fast as I was about a year ago (given I don't run cross country anymore), my PR is 18:20. So I have broken 30 minutes by a substantial amount. I know I could easily break 30 minutes again as of right now.”

Did six of them in total... from 43 minutes for the first one to 31 minutes at the end of the season. This is my year for the sub 30 minute 5k. I already have five races scheduled this year... first one is in 2 weeks!
