Avril P day 4 : 14km done today in about 1hr 26min
This challenge aims to help you increase your running milage over 5 days. This is how the running ladder works: Day one, run a minimum of 2km. Day two, double what you did on day one. Day three, day two milage plus day one. Day four, day three milage plus day one. Day five, day four milage plus day one. If doing 2km: Day 1 = 2km, day 2 = 4km, day 3 = 6km, day 4 = 8km, day 5 = 10km.
Running Ladder Challenge rules
- NO BACKSIES! You may only log km run after you have taken this challenge
- This does not have to be done on consecutive days, but must be 5 different days.
- Post your milage as you progress and when you have completed day five and posted, then you can complete the challenge.
- Not all types of physical activity are suitable for everyone. Users take Challenges and training advice at their own personal risk.
“With a couple of Great Danes running 5 consecutive days is easy!!”

Lena C Still working on this one 8 km is my next distance, Getting closer to it I'm at the moment planning the route :) Wednesday I start a running class and hope to get some great tips and techniques on how to complete a 10 km.
Paul W Day 5: August 28 - I completed 12.48 km (7.74 miles) of running in 1:26:09. This was my furthest run ever and it took more than a month to get it out of the way and completed! Thanks @avrilp for the great challenge. I stuck with it even and I finally completed the challenge. Your ladder challenges have really helped me. =)
Jhunar A Sorry did not update my training data.but here is my training program regarding the running ladder.
Paul W I just wanted to post an update here for the challenge. I am still working on the last day. Today I ran 6.42 miles but my last day needs to be 7.5 miles. So close! Soon, I will have this completed! =)
Paul W Still working on this one. Trying to have that "I feel like running long" feeling and pull a 7.5 mile run out of the hat. I have received some blisters and still running around them. I got one from walking the dog. Walking the dog! Unbelievable. The other was from my work shoes. Not problems from running. It is weird that my none running activities created problems for my feet. I am hopping to finish the cycle ladder and the running ladder within days of each other -- stay tuned. =)
Nick B encouraged this.
Paul W Day 4: July 17: 10k (6.20 miles) -- Amazing! I did it with a time of 1:08:18. Can you tell that I am smiling? =) My last day will be huge! 12.22k (7.5 miles)
Why not ask for some advice from other Challenge takers, or read some of the Challenge guides first?OK, I'll keep working at it!
