Alison J Got back into mountain biking, went over the handlebars, crashed into a tree, fell off a bridge, got lots of bruises, but had lots of fun doing it :-)

Claire L The good: Joined this site and joined the gym and am using it.
The bad: am suffering from back ache which I am hoping is just down to me getting used to it
The ugly: I think I would echo Joanne and say the amount of rain we have been having
encouraged this.
Joanne M The good: I was really pleased to complete the Complete 50 TS Challenges challenge. That's was a big milestone for me. Onwards and upwards now! The bad: I'm struggling with some of the daily challenges - just can't seem to get them into my routine. The ugly: too much rain. Is a nice, dry run too much to ask for in June?
Claire L encouraged this.
Neil B Good: worked out both mornings and evenings
Bad: have not been able to 100% eliminate alcohol
Ugly: still fighting the loss of muscle mass
Rob R encouraged this.
Eran K So... The GOOD are 180 km running, especially 3 long trail events (15 - 20km) that really took me to a different level of effort, and joy. The BAD, I didn't get a chance to complete my 30km run, still itches... and the UGLY, well, that will have to be the weather over here lately, constant heat & humidity all the way till October, so here's to sweaty runs, late night workout and plenty of beach time. HAPPY SUMMER EVERYONE!!
First P June was a great time of running for me. It was a joy and it felt so good to be out there on the road, on the trail, in sunshine and in the rain. The pleasure I felt is indescribable. I felt stronger, I was and am running faster. Sometimes I had to rein myself in to avoid overtraining and injury. It's like the beginning of a love affair. I am loving running more than ever!
Total Mileage for June: 152 miles.
Cheeta L The good: Adventures on holiday in Spain (swimming, running, cycling, skipping & training in the lovely heat!) and starting Juneathon
The bad: having a car accident, not being near a computer to blog about Juneathon (on holiday in Spain) so having to call it quits.
encouraged this.
I hope your car accident wasn't too bad, hope you are okay. :)
hey cheeta, u alright , hope it was a small accident. glad u r fine and alright, u take care o.k cheeta
It was enough of a bump to take the car off the road... not a write off but she's still getting repaired now. Got some whiplash from it but thankfully it only lasted 2 days. Lesson learned: I need to be more aware of the people who decide to brake before merging with motorway traffic!
Callie C The good.. We ran a great waananga (training camp) this month, the gooder... Lots of great adventures, the goodest... Achieving first marathon. No bad this month and looking forward to another great month ahead:)
John G I loved June 2012... It was the first month I ran ALL outside miles, no treadmill. Did over 100 miles!! June was awesome! Got alot of good work in!
encouraged this.
Rick B Wicked hot and July doesn't look much better. Getting the runs/cycle in early of a morning! More indoor workouts on the horizon.

Samarth A It was a good month for workout. Did plethora of push ups, chair dips and crunches. Did Ab Ripper X and it was great( Still doing it). Core is better then ever.
Bad part that i ran less. Not more than 15km in June.
Serena M encouraged this.
Thanks Cheryl. I run occasionally and I am getting better at it :)
Well Done Jon a new medal...
Welcome TS, Ampie ;D enjoy ur challenges in TS ;D
Rob R The GOOD : Kept to my core challenges, should book 5000 + push ups, churned through the core and strength challenges, got on the weight loss. The BAD: Not pushed out anywhere enough km on running or cycling...I can use the excuse of lack of time and the c**p weather, but I truely I need to prioritise this more.
encouraged this.
Wow! 5000! Core strength is so important for running and cycling. You've identified areas for improvement...You will be ready for July now!
Lorain R The Good: Had a birthday (#53) and I am in the best shape of my life! I have beat my previous personal best (which I just set last month of 206 miles of running) I am at 213 miles for June and I have yet to run today. (Last June, due to an Achilles injury I logged only 55 training miles) I have logged almost 900 training miles for the year, so far. I have run 66 days in a row; before that I was ecstatic at having completed 7 days in a row. I got back on my bike, and did some real barefoot running. The downright ugly: did some whining, doubted myself a few times, and I still need to clean my house. I am more interested in my personal fitness than I am in making sure my chores are done. There you go.
encouraged this.
Thank Karen and Eran for your encouraging words. It means a lot and @kaplaneran if you cleaned my house you would get a gold medal!
encouraged this.
Way to go Lorain...way to be an inspiration for the rest of us!

Frank P June- by the end of today I will have completed 10kpushups, 641miles of cycling and some odds and ends fitness training. I also completed my 1st metric century (4:13) and century (6:15) rides, and my 1st offical bike race/tour All while fighting a nasty chest infection consisting of a nasty cough which I am still holding on to. Overall, I am pleased - however, I missed my goal of cycling 800miles for the month.
encouraged this.
Kirstin M June - Was feeling a bit down with pole classes stopped for June and needed something to use up all my excess energy - discovered TS and really enjoying all the challenges, tribes and discussions. Actually think I am in better shape now than at the start of June!
encouraged this.
Great stuff Kirstin :)
Wooohoooo O Good - my birthday trip to Harry Potter Studios Tour, getting a sub25 minute 5k PB. Bad - not being able to exercise at the mo as a result of the Ugly: infected toe following the Wall Run
Cheryl M encouraged this.
Marie N June was a great month :) The GOOD: have covered 130.73 miles my biggest monthly total since starting to run in January; I treated myself to a pair of proper running trainers; I came fourth in the Race for Life and got a PB for a 5k (23:20); we had an offer accepted on a house and we are hopefully exchanging next week. I really can't think of anything BAD or UGLY that has happened this month .... wish all months were as good :)
encouraged this.
Good job Marie. Happy trails in your new place.
Sam S June saw me complete the 54 mile London to Brighton cycle. It was, quite simply the BEST physical achievement of my 38 years and I am ridiculously proud of myself and can't wait to try it again next year...FASTER! Training for this and 3 charity 5k's has got me back to a reasonable fitness level and I just want to do more. The only ugly side of June was when I bought new scales and realised I was heavier than I thought...bummer! It's probably all muscle though so that's fine ;-)
encouraged this.
Great accomplishment Sam. You're going great guns, keep it up, don't forget to chill out as well though and rest that body. Yeh probably muscle, if you weren't toning up along the way something wouldn't be right!
Sam S encouraged this.
Archie H June was a exciting month. I ran a 5k and won my age division. The YMCA in Dewitt put out really nice dryfit shirts. I got to meet a local tv anchor person. Workouts have been great. I'm learning to regulate my sugar and carbs. June was super.
encouraged this.
Molly H Good--lots of regular exercise and lost three pounds. Bad--not making my yoga classes this month. UGLY--trying to retrain my running stride to stop the heel striking!
encouraged this.
Sarah T June was far too lazy a month for me. I only put in 38 miles (61 km), when my goal was 50. The scale isn't moving, either.
The good things were - my size is changing (had to get rid of a couple more things from the closet), I got back on the bike for the first time in 10 years, and I climbed a mountain for the first time in a very long time. Those things make me very happy!
encouraged this.
Good job on making yourself happy! : )
Hurray for getting back on the bike and climbing a mountain. Sounds like a month full of accomplishment to me.
Ian C Good..the 11 mile run at the beginning of month and entering the 'ultra distance' London Duathlon in 10weeks..bad..the inability totrain due to the 'down right ugly'..trapped nerve in back!!
encouraged this.
Mike D The good = I am the fittest now I have ever been
The bad = Too much alcohol last weekend
The ugly = Bleeding nipples after a long run
encouraged this.
I guess we can't hack the pace any more mate :-)

Every year it gets harder to recover! The queen of Margaritas ( Me ) had to throw in the towel and swap them for week end runs! Miss them, but not the feeling the day after! : )
Definitely not, getting too old for it now LOL
Rab A The Good...I am strong
The Bad...I am having a flare up of my Auto-immune disease
The Ugly...Me, after 7 mile run last week...I was wrecked...
encouraged this.
Great job on the run! Sorry to hear about your flare up : ( Get better! : )

Casey K encouraged this.
You all so kind!! :)
Louise F The good - being cleared by my physio and consultant for running (well, stomping like a toddler)
The bad - being cleared by my physio and consultant for running (well, it hurts!)
The ugly - 4 horses with more grass than they know what to do with - they are being very, er, lets say 'productive'!!!
encouraged this.
Bwhaaaaaaa

Why not ask for some advice from other Challenge takers, or read some of the Challenge guides first?
OK, I'll keep working at it!Loading
