Swimming is great exercise. This challenge is for those that have just started swimming or are getting back into swimming as part of an all round fitness regime or maybe getting ready for a Tri. You can use any stroke but should aim to complete the challenge within the allotted time
Swim 500 Meters Challenge rules
- Must be completed within 20 minutes
- Not all types of physical activity are suitable for everyone. Users take Challenges and training advice at their own personal risk.

Graham H just realised i did this on Thursday 25th in the swimming pyramid the last set was 20 lengths of a 25 mtr pool which is 500mtrs
André V Went to the pool this morning with my boy's. There I managed to swim 500 meters with breast stroke. After an hour I did 200 meters with 100 meters speed swim. Feeling good and had fun with the boy's.
Nocturnal R Didn't really check my time but I'm quite sure that it is within 20min as I did 600meters.
Lena C Since I went in the water I might as well do this too. Last yeard 250 to prove to my son I could. TS got me to take it a bit further.
Callie C While I can swim longer distances I can't swim 500m yet without stopping, so taking this challenge to do 20 laps up at local pool without stopping for a break.
Frank P Well I managed to finish this in 38:53. My 11yr old daughter also managed to taunt me while lapping me several times asking "Dad what kind of stroke is that??? I never saw it before!!!" My reply - Its the "Try not drown stroke". Of course, this was all followed by my son's swim instructor coming up to me to "just let me know" that she gives adult lessons too......gee thanks!! HA!!!
Why not ask for some advice from other Challenge takers, or read some of the Challenge guides first?OK, I'll keep working at it!
