Pre-run caffeine has been shown to enhance performance and endurance, so you may notice a little boost during your runs. However, if you're doing a race of 10K or longer, don't consume more than 200 mg of caffeine (about 2 cups of coffee). Some experts believe too much caffeine may increase risk of cardiac events while running.

An hour, but I am quite sensitive to it, so even 20 minutes does it for me :0) Then again i have a very small coffee, so it is quite cocentrated.

Marianne H Had a great run on tuesday after a coffee but it didn't help on thursday or friday... or if it did I can't imagine how awful the run might have been without it!
