Remjie D created the guide Supported Tree Pose
If you're still having problems with the footwork on the raised foot try practicing with the hand on the opposite side holding the raised foot in front of the opposite thigh. See the picture:
This will help develop balance, don't raise arms above the head if you have high blood pressure or if you haven't done this before, hands in prayer position is just fine. Rest your foot wherever it feels comfortable but avoid resting it against directly on the knee joint.
Hold for 8-12 breaths and keep smiling.
The Tree Challenge rules
“once you're in the pose, stretch your arms up like the branches of a tree reaching for the skies and keep your standing foot firm like roots to the ground. that is the inspiration for this pose - reaching up with your foot still firm”

Jade A Did it on both legs, held for 12 breaths. The tree is a basic pose in yoga, the trick to keep your balance is to look at one spot in the room and just concentrate on it while taking your 12 breaths, coz once your eyes move, the mind/concentration gets distracted, and so your body will move, and that breaks the balance. Also, really press your right foot to your left leg, and the other way around. :)
April W and Jan Michael J encouraged this.
Nana D I can hold the tree in prayer pose, not quite getting there with arms up
