Treat yourself to a good night's sleep!

Training Hard? Working Hard? Playing Hard?

So here's a challenge that all sportspeople could benefit from on occasion. A really good night's sleep.

You'll know the best way to ensure that you are able to sleep - chances are if you're training regularly that shouldn't be a problem. But still making a priority to avoid distractions and hit the pillow early is surprisingly challenging these days.

Treat yourself to a good night's sleep! Challenge rules

  1. Try to add an hour to your minimum daily average night's sleep or let nature wake you up
  2. Disconnect anything that could disturb you - phones, alarm clocks etc.
  3. Mark the challenge complete if, by lunchtime, you are feeling the rewards of nature's true restorative!
  4. Not all types of physical activity are suitable for everyone. Users take Challenges and training advice at their own personal risk.

“You have to work out how much sleep you need each night, everyone is different. Myself, I need nine hours. I wish it was less, but them's the breaks ;) I get my nine hours & feel like do anything.”

Mark H Treat yourself to a good night's sleep! Challenge

Contributorgold Mark H Normally this is just not for me, I just don't need massive amounts of sleep, I'm not saying that I can't lie in bed till late, but if I get up later my body clock begins to readjust so that I don't feel sleepy till later. About six hours is a good nights sleep for me, more than 7 is decadence, 5.5 is fairly normal. This week I have been getting between 6 and 7 with the occasional nap, but that's due to a cold I've been suffering from. However, lots of sleep this week means I'm feeling well rested though not much healthier this weekend

Amanda C Treat yourself to a good night's sleep! Challenge

Contributorgold Amanda C Slept in the afternoon for a bit then got up in the evening for a bit because we were off work last night then went to sleep around 1030 and woke up at 530 am....so all together probably around 11 hours lol....it may sound like a lot but I usually never sleep that much. And the best part of it was the 1030 pm - 530 am that was a full 7 hours which definitely never happens!

Challenge Completed!!! =D

Jeff C Treat yourself to a good night's sleep! Challenge

Contributorgold Jeff C Slept late last night. Work up late this morning. Missed Saturday track in consequence.
Must sleep early tonight. Must wake up before sun goes up. Run around Burke lake in the Sunday morning.
Salvage myself.

Charlotte C Treat yourself to a good night's sleep! Challenge

Contributorgold Charlotte C First time in a while that I was able to go to bed when I was tired, not a long time after that point, and that I didn't have to wake to an alarm the following morning. This is my definition of a good night's sleep. I had late breakfast and coffee, and am now getting ready for the gym! Feeling so refreshed.
