What happenes between middle school and high school that causes us to lose girls from athletics? My son came home to tell me they are down to just seven girls on the xc team in high school. While my running buddy is building a massive team in the middle sch...

Could you explain why gym casuses girls to drop out of sports? I'm missing the connection. I am as well it seems really ridiculous. The conclusion presented to me states that health/P.E. credits are required for graduation. Girls are putting these of...

That wasn't even an all-out effort for Mike - he too carried on for the 10km. <Good grief!>  I certainly won't be trying any of that nonsense; 7684m at pace will be more than enough for me! and that sensible clarity of thought is why you're skipper!

I agree with everyone here. It takes time, and consistant effort. You did not get out of shape over night. I think the biggest challenge for most people is everyone of us would like it to be easy and instant, but it is not. I can say I am not exactly where...

It's time we get some teams together. Let's brainstorm to keep it fair and equal. How about splitting up some of the stronger runners to get the newbie involved. Give me your feedback.

Newest answer

Sounds excellent, we have done a similar thing with the local kids usually its logging miles for a coast to coast run. I'm in. I like the idea presented my Kevin for rotating it keeps everyone accountable.

Are these to be done in a row, or in sets of ten?

Question • 4 answers

Sets of ten make sense to me, because otherwise I don't think I'd be able to do any of this.. Although, I am very much a beginner at anything actual fitness.

Newest answer

Personally, I am doing the entire set of repetitions at once, I do not split them up (if the day requires 60 sit-ups, I do them all at once, without interruptions, etc.)
