I keep a bottle of water with me all day and refill it every few hours. Before I'm really awake in the morning, I enjoy pre-boiled warm water with a big slice of lemon (the peel is as nutritious as the juice/pulp) to get my energy flowing before meditation, yoga practice, TS challenges, and pre-dawn running or cycling. Then I follow your sensible hydration program, Sam, except that I count my 7 a.m. green tea (post-boot camp antioxidant) as part of my total hydration. It sure helps extend my unbroken sleep pattern if I have only small amounts of water after 5 pm!
I used to never drink enough, for years now... Last week we were invinted for lunch and when my friend was about to trash a 2 litres bottle of Evian I asked him if I can take it. So this chllenge arrives just in time for me : I fill my bottle every morning, every evening it must be empty. And the most amazing is that because I see my bottle I often feel thirsty and I have to refill it in the middle of the day. So it's about 3 litres, plus 1 litre of tea a day. 4 litres a day now ! YES !
people should drink water based on their weight, activity level, and other factors but this is a very good starting point. i found this site and it helped me a lot more.. hope it helps! http://nutrition.about.com/library/blwatercalculator.htm
