What are the leaderboards and levels?
What is the leaderboard?
Leaderboards on Tribesports show your relative position versus other users at any point in time.
The Main Leaderboard is for your overall activity on all of Tribesports. Tribesports is a network of people that love sports, its aim - and we believe this is an aim shared by our users - is to get the world to do more in sports by providing a global social platform where people can get the advice and encouragement they need to do so.
So, in order to move up the Main Leaderboard you get rewarded helping us all achieve this aim, whether that be creating or participating in challenges, giving useful advice either by creating guides or answering questions, leading Tribe discussions or even recruiting more people to the cause by finding as many people as you can to join Tribesports.
What is my Tribesports level?
Leaderboard positions come and go – but your level on Tribesports is like a Karate or Taekwondo belt – the more you do on the site, you earn new levels, and like a belt – you never lose it or go backwards.
How is my ranking calculated?
Lots of factors go into determining your position and level on Tribesports, but the goal of both is to reward engaged users a¬nd those that are helpful and add value to the experience of other users – we reward those people that share our aim – to get the world to do more sports.
We’re not going to give away all the secrets, but to help you, we have bucketed some of the factors into small, medium and large i.e. there are big wins in tackling the large items.
Large
-
Completing your Tribesports profile
-
Creating engaging, useful and popular Challenges, Tribes, Guides, Discussions & Reviews
-
Expanding your sports network (inviting, and then invitees joining)
Medium
-
Taking part in site content (taking, joining, completing, commenting, answering, responding, adding equipment to lists)
-
Being popular and getting followers and influence
-
Inviting new users to join your sports network
Small
- Posting activity updates, encouraging users, and visiting the site each day
Best Practice
Your ranking is determined not by the volume of what you do, but by its quality and usefulness. So some good tips to get the most out of rankings are:
Be helpful and useful - posting activity updates, creating guides, starting discussions, writing reviews and asking questions that get interaction get you ranked higher.
Share - posting and sharing your posts and content – if you’ve got something you’re proud of, share it on and off Tribesports – be an evangelist to get people doing more sports!
Get your challenges and tribes numbers up - creating challenges and tribes that other users love gets you more ranking points – so make sure you share and get other users taking or joining them, and don’t forget you can invite people by Facebook, Twitter and email too.
