How long and how far are the rides? I cannot see how riding would slow you down unless:
1. You are not taking enough recovery time.
2. You are not stretching out properly afterwards.

I have been doing two intense mountain biking session per week lately. Usually with a 1200+ foot elevation gain. I have noticed that my mile times and short speed/endurance races and training are a bit flat, has anyone else experienced this?
