Alex R asked the question in Barefoot Runners

Chi Running?

Has anybody read the book Chi-Running by Danny Dreyer?

Are the principles explained in this basically the same for bare foot running?

Cheers

Hi Alex,

1 - Yes, I Have ;-)

2 - As far as I understood, Chi-running (or the POSE method or others) insist on good running form. Running correctly makes it unnecessary - for most people - to have hi-tec shoecushioning or orthotics.

They don't insist on running barefoot, but the movement basics are the same.

If You want do run barefoot, I'd recommend to read a barefoot bible (f.i. The Complete Idiot's Guide to Barefoot Running). They give You lots of advice on preparing and caring for the soles of your feet.

Chi Running; I found the book very enlightening.  Anyone just starting out running or one that has a difficult time at it; it is a must read.  Teaches running to be a more relaxing and less stressful sport.
