Elizabeth V asked the question in 30 Day Squat Challenge

Does the 30 day squat challenge really work ? Has anyone noticed results?

The thing with challenges is they are just that - a challenge, it's more for fun than results. If you are looking for actual result you will need to have a proper program with progressive, result oriented accurate reps, sets combined with appropriate recovery periods.

I definitely have. It is hardcore towards the end but there is a definite difference.

Not just to my butt either. As long as you perform the squats with good technique you will tone bum, thighs, abs and lower back (as well as avoiding injury).

I have noticed not just peachier cheeks but more definition between the top of my thigh (which is slimmer and more toned) and my buttocks.

Hope this helps, T

Totally agree with you Tara Lou, I'm only half way but feel and notice the difference, loving the challenge :)

Heading into day 29, I will let you know! I have noticed a difference in my running, I feel stronger and approach hills with greater ease.

Since joining TS and doing all the extra squats every day on various challenges that I wouldn't have previously done, I would say yes doing squats every day has definitely made a difference to me. However, I think all these photos you see encouring women that if you squat you will get a perfect backside like the women in the photos is very unrealistic. It has helped tone my legs as well and they do feel a bit stronger.

Genetics plays a part so for a lot of people they will never look exactly like the pictures, but remember that training with heavier weights and squatting deep will hit your glutes a lot harder and cause visible physiological changes and muscle development. Are you squatting with or without weights and are you increasing the weights progressively?

With and without weights, but I'm not aiming to develop that area any more than I already have, more maintaining it! (Particularly as I have joint problems so I am very careful as to the weights I use). Agree though, genetics makes a big difference I just feel the photos and advertising on the internet and sports websites can be misleading and certainly not a reflection of what everyone will look like! :)

Trust me, if the words CHALLENGE and SQUAT are in the same sentence and you actually do them, you'll not only feel the burn in places you wouldn't expect but you'll be seeing results before the 30 days are up.  I started doing squats and saw a significant change in just 1 week.
