Half Crunches? Effective?

When you do crunches do you have to go all the way up, or is it still okay if you do half crunches?

Half Curl

The name might not exactly suggest it,but the Half Curl is an abdominal exercise that it is not at all unlike a basic crunch routine. In fact, the Half Curl is a variation of the crunch that may make the more traditional workout a bit more difficult. The half curl

The abs and core consist of more than the “six pack” of the central abdomen. There are additional muscles that run on either side of those “six pack abs” called the obliques. The half curl targets the central abdominal muscles, giving you a flat toned waist line. But to achieve a slender “V” shaped waist, it is recommended that the half curl be combined with an oblique workout.

The half curl abdominal exercise really targets your abs. Make sure to maintain proper form to make this exercise more effective.

Half curl is really good for Abs, specially muscles around navel. But should do Oblique with that. In most of guys n gals, fat is accumulated towards Oblique and really hard to remove once gained fat around there..

Side plank is good for building your obliques. If you can't hold it, just do repetitions. Also, in the basic curl, past a certain angle the back gets involved, so for people with lower back issues, half a curl is a much safer option.

Forgot, from half a crunch, you can target your obliques by adding a twist. Think that you're trying to bring your shoulder to the oppossite knee.

Cool, thanks guys. I tried to target my obliques this morning using Maca P's suggestion. Boy was it painful! But I'll keep at it.
