Chris R asked the question in Disaster ... I'm injured!

Have a bad pain on the outside of my foot, what do i do?

I developed this pain the day after i completed a half marathon and it has been so bad I can't go running at the moment.  The pain is in the middle of the outside of my foot and feels a bit swollen. Any ideas what it is and how to fix it?

Sorry to hear that Chris.  I'm no expert, but as with most injuries, RICE; Rest, Ice, Compression, Elevation.  It's best to give it some time to heal before you try running again, and when you do, make sure you take it easy.  Hope it gets better soon.

Second that! Normally feet injuries get worse when you ignore them. I'd suggest you take it easy, if the pain gets worse go see a doctor. have a look at your shoes as well, are they worn out? A year of running could very well destroy the soles (?). To keep fit, maybe , instead of running, you can go cycling or for a swim?

Looks a bit similar to my injury. Peroneal tendon Strain or if it did'nt come on quickly possibly tendonitis.  If the pain continues I would consider seeing a doctor and get an official diagnosis.

Chris- curious to know how you are doing. I'm suffering from a similar injury. Not sure what to do. Been ignoring it for a week- but it keeps getting more painful. haven't been able to run and missed a race this weekend. Did you end up going to a doctor?
