I am not very good with music but I use it mainly to cut off my distractions. So any engrossing music fine for me, and once I pickup momentum music hardly matters. Many times I am not even aware of the music after few minutes.

I like some early AC/DC...some Queens of the Stoneage( Songs for the Deaf)...and some Prodigy tracks are great particularly Smack my bitch up...the driving beat keeps me going when I am flagging a bit...

99% of the time: Technical death metal (eg Archspire, Origin, ) Grindcore (Napalm Death), thrash metal (Revocation, Slayer). And various other bands with blast beats, double kick peddal foot work, down tuned guitars, guttoral vocals... high aggression energetic music. Works every time!
