I went to a total fitness shop in Nottingham, they were really good. I had my mind on a wetsuit, they talked to me about my swimming and sold me another suit at a third of the price of the one I wanted. Good starting point.

Richard H asked the question in Virgin Active London Triathlon…
I've had various recommendations on this. What type of wetsuit should I get? What should I wear underneath in preparation for the cycle and running elements?

Thanks for that Richard. What type of suit did they recommend for the swim? Are you happy with it?

Stating the obvious its important you get a swim/tri specific one - it will allow movement in the shoulders etc. Orca ones are quite affordable for possibly a one time triathloner http://tribesports.com/products?utf8=%E2%9C%93&q=&brand_id%5B%5D=2021&commit=Search&sort_by=relevance&price_from=&price_to=&category_path=watersports-equipment%2Fwetsuits%2Fswimming-triathlon-wetsuits®ion=gb. Have you spoken to your local triathlon shop - many hire wetsuits (good ones) for a season for about £40

Sorry for the slow reply. I have got an Orca equip, having completed 2 events I am very happy with it. Fits great. When you get a suit, make sure to do a few things to stop it from 'cutting' 1, cut your nails, 2, use rubber gloves, 3 buy some black witch glue ( you can get this from wiggle.com for a fiver). Have you got a suit sorted yet?
