Welcome to the Cape Town Hikers Tribe! We're all about sharing advice, asking questions, and generally chatting and catching up on all things 'Cape Town Hikers' related. As you're new to the Tribe, why not add a quick post here to introduce yourself to your fellow Tribe members.
I holiday in the Cape fairly regularly and find it a great place for hiking. We stay in Simonstown and close to it are lots of walks most of which have great views of False Bay although we haven't spotted any sharks yet. Last Sunday we went to Silvermine and did a hike to Elephant's Eye cave. Another good local hike is to Elsies 's Peak. I really enjoy Skeleton Gorge alough it is more than a year since I last did that hike. Any suggestions for good hikes would be very welcome.
Lion's Head! If you head up Kloof Nek and take the Signall Hill turn off there are loads of parking spots on the way where you can pull up and find a trail. It's wonderful up there and can be quite challenging (especially if you climb the Head itself).
I used to live in the southern suburbs but now live in London and only visit family occasionally, but they all now live in either Three Anchor Bay or Tamboerskloof so it's a different way of Cape Town living for sure!
