Welcome to the Generation X Tribe! We're all about sharing advice, asking questions, and generally chatting and catching up on all things 'Generation X' related. As you're new to the Tribe, why not add a quick post here to introduce yourself to your fellow Tribe members.
Now I know I'm not the only one still finding new games play and new ways to push ourselves when past generations would have settled down and become far too sensible! For me the last few years have added yacht racing, polo and flying, years to come promise more polo, scuba, sky diving, paragliding and no doubt a few other things!
Growing old is mandatory; Growing up is optional!

I'm all for having fun and trying new things - work hard, play hard, you can sleep when you're dead! Most recently I have tried Tai Chi (not for me!) and Hula Hoop (good for a giggle, surprisingly hard on the side abs and quad muscles). Most recent challenge is taking on a a young horse for training - that will certainly call for a very very very good sense of humour and fun!

Yep exactly, my signature line on most forums is this from Hunter S Thompson:

Yep, young horses are certainly 'fun' and I guess in part young or not so young but competition fit horses are part of the reason my extreme sports insurance covers me for offshore yacht racing but won't cover me for polo!

I love the skidding concept. Every day should have something WOW--and since I have longevity in my genes, I figure I better stay in great shape to be able to stlll do WOW things when I'm 104. It's exhausting to hear people say "I'm too old" when they are really just old in the head!

I totally agree with you David, my bodies repeatedly being challenged and battered...too late for the well preserved body! I'm from a family where sweating is not something girls do (nor finishing school - I went to Uni). I've always been active - hiking, judo, rockclimbing....more recently belly dancing, boxing, kayaking. I keep threatening to go sky diving....The world's absolutely amazing, I want to see everything and do everything. I just don't understand those who want to look pretty.
I'll never grow up!
