I am a total novice - I had a hoop at home growing up, and haven't played since. Love shooting some hoops as a form of relaxation, but do it far too rarely. I'd love to play more often - I'll try and get out a few more times down the local park in the summer

Hey guys. I used to play a lot when I was at school, especially high school. Unfortunately, that was 7 years ago. Since then I have only been playing occasionally with some big breaks. However, about 3 months ago we put together a team with friends and no play a social league which is a good fun.
I have also been refereeing semi-professionally for a couple of years and these days do an occasioanl game when the league is short of refs.

Hello, my name is Chris from Dorchester Dorset. I have been playing basketball seriously for about a year now (I am 15) and need some advice on my virtical jump, I need to be able to dunk. At the moment 07/03/2012 I am 5ft 10. If anybody can reccomend any exercises or help on increasing my vertical jump that would be great. I can reach just above the middle of the net.
Im 5ft 8 and can do about the same. Maybe you should consider the way you jump or even your jumping style completely.

Hope i dont sound too full of myself but i guess im confident of hoe good i am.
I do think my shot is letting down me down though.
Any suggestions on how to better my game I would take gladly.
Whats happenin, my name is sam i play for my college team and i want to organise some pick up games around my area. anyone with a team of mates interested??????
Hi, I'm Micah and I play every week in our college gym. I will be a senior next year and I plan on absolutely dominating these pick up games, and leaving my legacy on the school!

Hi bud, I would contact your local borough council or local sport agency. I live in Shropshire and found out through my County Sports Partnership where to play. Although the local government structure is different in London I am sure you can find someone to ask. Alternatively contact your local sports centre directly and ask if anyone runs a pick up session at any point in the week.

Hi, my name is Iain.
I got back on to basketball this year after a very long break from the game (not played since Uni). I now run a weekly friend group session for an hour on a Monday night and have just started attending a pick up game every Thursday.
Really enjoying being back playing ball. I am also hoping to do some coaching badges in the future. Any advice on how to improve my shooting techinique is greatly appreciated!
