A quick Hi from me ....this will be my third running of Snowdnia marathon and will yet again be my main race of the year.  Did a 3:32 last year in horrendus weather but loved every minute of it.  The whole atmospere of Llanberis, the runners and the race make it a weekend not to be missed :-)

Hi nicola, welcome to the tribe!... that's a fab time in those or any conditions, well done!! i'm well and truly in the 'plodders' camp, first time up in Llanberis in 2011, managed to get round in 4.31, last year was my first year running after 20 years of playing rugby, have to say, i'm so glad to have taken the plunge!..after experiencing Bwlch y Groes for the first time last year, i'm hoping to put up a better fight of it this year, and i have to agree, the whole event has an atmospere which can't be beaten anywhere!..hope 2012 is good for you and thanks again for joining this mental tribe!! lol.

Hi from me, a newbie runner, done a couple of 10kms end of last year, one 10 miler two weeks ago, training for a half marathon next month and then getting mega fit for my first Snowdon and first ever marathon. I'll be happy to just get to the finish.

Always wanted to run a marathon, my two brothers and best mate are also entering and we thought this one looked the most challenging and most fun, it better had be!

Give me a push if you see me struggling!

 Happy Running, Andy.

Andy without a doubt you have picked a great marathon it is fortunate enough to have the lot in respect to challenges.

It was also my first outing at the marathon last October I trained extremely hard for it over 5 months and ran it in 3.35.56 I was very pleased considering as Nicola said the weather conditions we had to put up with.

I'll be there again this year and I may go a bit faster than last year only time will tell.

C U there . Karl.

Posted by Communicatorbronze Stewart C on 26 January 2012 at 8:39 PM

hi stewart, if you go to the snowdon marathon website, in the 'about the race' section, go to race profile, youl find a map with the water stops all marked out, theres about 11 in all, so youl never go thirsty, hope this helps!

Dont forget the energy bars , flapjacks , isotonics you get along the way as well and the odd spectator offering Jelly Babies .

And on top of that there will no doubt be plenty of water coming from the heavens lol .

Hi pretty new to all this - ran the race in 2006 (just over 4hrs I think) in moment of madness and thought ought to try again this year - obviously forgotten how tough it was. Looking forward to it, wish you all luck with the training

Hi all - new to ths site, but not to the Snowdonia Marathon. My 1st Snowdonia was in 2007 after taking up this runnng lark at the end of 2006 - mid life crisis my wife thought, but I have done the race every year since and it is the only marathon I will do every year. The weather has been "interesting" to say the least each year - we must be due a dry, windless one this year, although  think the weather adds to the beauty/challenge of the event!!
