Hi peepz .I love trainin on a cold miserable day! makez the day n urself feel better if anythin , n i alwayz have 2 go for a run wen itz snowin or been snowin .bring on da winter ,bring on da cross-countries!!!
Hello Winter Runners! I am currently training for my first half marathon in the summer....naturally, I am REALLY missing winter running right now. Looking forward hearing about all the wonderfully nasty weather everyone else is enjoying runnng in :)
Hi Jade, I have a couple of proper running "undershirts" that I wear under my long sleeve running tops when I run in the cold. I find that they keep my body warm, but don't overheat me when I'm out on longer runs. You could wear running gloves and a hat if it helps and take them off as you warm up. If it's purely your motivation, I struggle with my running motivation sometimes too. Just try and remind yourself how good you'll feel when you've done it. Promise yourself a special treat when you're done. Another good thing is not to think about it too much, just quickly dress in your running gear and go! Hope this helps a bit! Good Luck!!
Hi fellow winter runners! My most treasured running memories are of winter runs. I love the sound of the snow crunching and the way the cold air feels on my face because it takes me back. Generally I am a summer lover (over 30 degrees C is when I'm happiest) but the joy I get from winter runs is priceless.
Hi, I'm Sean. I'd rather run in a blizzard than on a treadmill.
I love that attitude @seanohal. I feel exactly the same way. I just don't understand running on a treadmill indoors, when you can be out running with nature. I ran through all of last winter, including when there was snow on the ground.
as long as it's not toooooo cold, i really enjoy a winter run as the air is just so crisp when it is frosty outside! not so great in the rain but going out in bad weather always makes me feel like ive done well for still getting on with it :)
Well I ran in -6 conditions in Feb this year for my first 50 miler so I guess I possibly enjoy winter running!! seriously the hardest thing is getting out of bed when its howling out there but once your there its got to be the best you and the elements - I always say why the hell am I out there for, then when I get back I know exactly why and it's simple because I can, able and fortunate enough to do be able to! :-)
