Skiing in the southern hemisphere

Ski pistes can be found in South Africa, New Zealand, Australia, Argentina, ...

But are they as good as the ones you can find in Europe or North America? What has been your best ski experience in those regions?

Had a great few trips to Thredbo in NSW, Australia. And also did some racing in Mt Buller. Noting on Europe but still a laugh if you get the right conditions. Usually very cold and windy at the top of a lift and then roasting by the time you ski to the bottom! I have never known such temperature variation in the space of a lift!
