Deb L Massive step forward today. Flung the shoes off and ran 23 minutes along the river. Would have loved to have kept going but must be sensible. First proper run this year. I felt like I was floating. Added bonus completely covered in mud.

Wow, that was amazing Jeff, making it to 5km naked, and with little consequence, small blister sounds tolerable. I love all your pictures, the family sure had a great time too. Congratulations to all of you :)

Jane H answered the question Has anyone ran in any of the Inov8 range of Road shoes? I am considering the Road X 255. I have a pair of Rocklite 312 that I run trails in and love them.
I am sorry I can't help you out Mick, I am new to the barefoot running. I have recently bought New Balance Minimums, which I am breaking in. Hopefully you will have some success in responses. Have you googled any rev...

Angelika W Here is an interesting thing that has happened to me. Years ago I stopped running due to shin splints and possible stress fractures. Took 6 months for the pain to go away. I had started running and was gradually increasing according to my trainers suggestion...still I suffered so I had to quit. 2 years ago I bought my first pair of barefoot runners, and a pair for my daughter....LOVE LOVE LOVE them. Nothing hurts when I run. Last week a local sports place was going of business so I bought a pair or Saucony running shoes. They were expensive but with 70% discount it was a great deal. I did a 5km run in them on my treadmill. Next day...I thought my shins were on fire. The same pain I felt years ago. Yesterday ( 2 days later) I ran with my barefoot runners....not only did they not make things worse, they pain is completely gone. Did I mention how much I love my Barefoot runners??? True story!

Cags R First run in the Vibrams today, just a quick 20 minutes as I've been told you need to ease into using them!

Was really cool, notice when your form slips though! Looking forward to going out again this week

I ran a full 5 km with mine the first time I used them without issues....no shin pain or calf pain.
I have been a bit stiff for Sunday and today - thought it might have been the run but then realised it was due to a highly competitive Cereal Box Challenge at my friend's birthday!

Leonard B answered the question Coming back from injury
I am sorry, but that does not seem like a question I can or should answer via TS. I know it sucks if I tell you that you should go to see a doctor, but it seems to be the best solution. If he or she allows it, start...

Cheers Paul, you're right of course about seeking professional advice, just got to make some time to see someone.

I injured my ankle/heel on a run Jan 3rd. It was very muddy (clay) and I ran about 11km. I didn't feel any pain until I went for a short 3km pace run the next day. I hobbled about for about 2-3 weeks not really being able to put much weight on...

Tan P answered the question Should a person with little or no arch run bare foot or even with the minimalist shoes?
Ciara, there is no right or wrong to put on barefooted shoes. If you having no arch, you still can buy barefooted shoes & buy additional arch sole stick them into your shoes. This will help you to wear your barefoote...

Ciara D answered the question Should a person with little or no arch run bare foot or even with the minimalist shoes?
Thanks everyone, I might start with minimalist shoes first then go barefoot, but I dont have a good area to do that.

Jeff G answered the question Should a person with little or no arch run bare foot or even with the minimalist shoes?
Only if you want to develop a strong arch.. ;-). But seriously, I had no arch.. very flat footed. The reason was that my feet did not get exercised properly. Shifting to barefoot and minimalist shoes developed thos...
James H answered the question Should a person with little or no arch run bare foot or even with the minimalist shoes?
I'm flat-footed and heavy, but I have no problem running distances up to half marathon in fivefingers. The key is building up distances and proper technique very slowly: your feet will get used to it eventually.
Jane H encouraged this.
Ciara D asked Should a person with little or no arch run bare foot or even with the minimalist shoes?
My feet have slim to none arch in them. Worried about possible foot issues or running injures.
