Canix - Running with the dogs

The first thing I'd do before attempting any kind of running with your pooch is get to the vet. Get your dogs knees checked out, get the pooch checked out.

Lucky enough I noticed one of mine struggling a little after a run and got him checked out...

Sally terrier and I run daily, anywhere from 3-13 miles. Building up our distance for a 33 mile ultra run next march :)

I have 4 dogs, 3 terriers and a collie pup. Sally, my patterdale terrier is my long distance dog. She sets a nice pace and can run for days without tiring (jealous? Me? lol) Meg my wirehaired jack, and Billy my jack x staff are my canicross team,...

I ran today with my dog. She is such a fast runner!!!!! I would love to put a GPS on her just to see how much she ran. I ran 10k. She must have ran double!!!!

WOW this is fantastic I always run with my jack russell, and where i live I have not seen anyone else with a dog! And here yo all in this tribe! Awesome!

I think now that its finally regularly cool out I will have to take my dane out more often, start out slow (2-3 miles 3-4 days a week) and build back up from there (and so that way I can build with her :)

I have 2 springer spaniels (mother and daughter ) and run with them 3/4 times a week between 3/5 miles a time , great fun all round :-)

We are just beginer, and only run 30 mins 3x/week but looking foward to improve that. Sami loves it but he get's tired since he's kinda obese =^{ hopfully he'll get in better shape sooner than later. =^)

I have two 14 month old jackapoos and we do 2-8 mile per run, 2-3 times a week. We're looking to bump that up to a half marathon distance, but I'm letting the team down!

I take Sweets (my dane) out about 2-3 times a week when the weather is nice (this summer was hard on her because it was so hot) and run about 2-3 miles!

I have a springer spaniel and do alot of running with her . I would love to run a race with her along with other runners and their dogs.

I take Soldier out with me 5x a week, unless it's just way too hot for him. One of the benefits of having him run with me is that his nails don't need trimming.

I just used a long 10ft tracking lead with soft harness.

At the moment he's out with me every other day for anywhere between 7 to 10k, but if I can find a longer route away from roads still I may go a bit further. He's just coming up for 1yr old and lots of energy!
