I now got 3 rollers. (1) my 1st foam roller. (2) small travel sized tirgger point roller (I think this is similar to the one @janeh got). (3) plastic pipe used to house cables buried under the street. Uploaded a photo on this. My favourite is...

Nocturnal R answered the question Achiles injured after too much intense running 3 weeks, ago not run since - Any tips in using a "Grid" to sort it out?
My understanding is that the foam roller is a simpler version of sports massage. It reliefs tense muscles but it will not heal torn muscles or badly inflamed ones. I do not use a grid foam roller as I find that if I...

Thanks guys, Yes - I saw a Physio soon after I had the injury - Very Swollen and tender with internal friction/tighness. I was advised not to run and to do heel lower exercises. Also to use the roller on calf but no...

Hi Smithy, you need to be more specific about your injury before you can get any useful advice. When you say you've injured it, what did you actually do & what is the diagnosis from an experienced medical practioner...

Hi Smithy, I am not sure what you mean by a grid! I use my foam roller for my IT bands, and my calves, rolling the achilles too. I also do calf raises, but hanging down from a door sill. I hold the stretch for about...

My favourite foam roll is on my hip flexors, they are always painful but it helps my back alot.

I'm hearing so much praise for these I think I'll have to get one for after long distance runs.
Aline M had a grueling interval training and when I got home my foam roller was waiting for me, had a nice rolling session, gosh it felt good. yay!!

:-) :-) :-) us foam rollers know exactly what you mean. Rolling on those tired muscles is a feeling that is hard to describe. The pain plus a feeling that the muscles are being relaxed.

Looks nice. Mine on the other hand is not hard enough anymore. Will be looking to upgrade to a harder one in a couple of months.
Dave W replied to the topic Your foam roller brand and dimension
Mine is 90x15cm and is the perfect density. My last one was an Infiniti one but was way too hard, this one is much better.

Yeah I love using the balls for the back and shoulder (tennis, lacrosse, golf, sliotar). I stand flat against the wall, place my ball betewwen me and the wall and go find those niggles.....great. A golf ball is good for your arches too. If you...

Oh OK. It was the netting cover that makes it look different. After removing it, it's similar to other foam rollers. LOL

the one in my pic has the cover removed, but it was clear plastic; it's got little bumps though :)) i guess it's because of the light in the pic that looks like it's got a net around it
