IIliotibial band is situated on the outside of the thigh. IT Band syndrome is one of the leading causes of lateral knee pain in runners. I do side stetches with one leg in front of the other.

Always streatch after you warm up. Do 5 ~ 10 mins light jog then stretch each muscle group at least 30 secs twice. I start with calves(achiles), Hamstrings, IT band and quads.
I have recently been given a treadmill and find that running gives me horrendous cramp.
My calves virtually lock up, probably due to years of weights (calf raise with 550lb) and very little flexibility or CV training.

Hi all as a proper sized man (not a giant!!) - I have 'massive' problems buying trainers my size (Euro 38.5 or 39). I've trawled the interweb with little or no luck.
