Parkrun is a free weekly timed 5k event which is run in local parks all around the UK for people of all ages and ability. All you have to do is go to the Parkrun website at http://www.parkrun.com/home , register and print your personal barcode, find a local Parkrun and turn up by 9am on a saturday morning and run, walk, or crawl around the 5k course. Don't forget your barcode or you get a time.

15 minutes is a furious time. It is a regional class anyway. I never ran sub 18 minutes in last 10 years. My best 24 years ago was 15.29 and did over 11 of my 5Ks in 1980's under 16 minutes. Now it is the story of past and hunting sub 18. B...

That's lovely! I haven't managed any parkruns outside of the UK yet, but the Forest of Dean parkrun is my favourite non-home run, glorious and muddy!

Hey there, I'm new to ParkRun just joined to run the Forest of Dean one, 9am on Saturday mornings though, its guna be nippy!

tHanks for the info - and 'warning'. I'll give it a go one of these Saturday mornings. I do prefer circuits to out-and-back. (Even driving, I come home a different route form the one I took going there.)

Hi, Been doing my local park run (Heaton Park) on and off for most of the year, done 15 now. personal best gone from over 32 mins when i started to 24:31 now - aiming to beat that again on Saturday after missing last week.

Delighted that Southampton got it's own Parkrun in July. So far I've only missed one. I've got my eye on one of their lovely shirts, but it's going to take more than a year to get one!
