John B I just completed the Citifield Spartan Sprint. What challenges are you taking?
Spartans...one of the most extreme civilisations the world has ever witnessed – one founded on discipline, sacrifice and frugality, centred on the collective, whose goal was to create the perfect state and the perfect warrior.
A tribe for all us feeling Spartans and are Spartans, warriors...that nothing is impossible and anything can be achieved.
History, training...strong mind.

I just completed The Citifield Race. Do bodyweight exercises before your runs, AND after. Believe me, That's where I made my changes! LOL! Good Luck!

I did my first one last year and was intimidated by it but it was not so bad. The run is broken into segments with the obstacles in between. Take one at a time. Do some cardio work 2-3 times a week. It doesn't need t...

I ran this event last year, Helene's answer is exactly what you want to do really. As it's only 5km your CV endurance doesn't have to be high, as long as you can keep moving and tackle the obstacles as they come you...

I am not very fit, but I am very strong and have great muscular endurance. I've not done much actual running, so would really appreciate ideas on how to start my preparation.
Helene C Just subscribed for my first spartan race in june in quebec (canada)! I'm stocked and excited and a little stressed out!

I'm giving serious thought to pursuing the coveted Trifecta this year. I think I've got it mapped out and it should be attainable.
Any hints?

David B answered the question Spartan Nutritian
If you eat healthy 90% of the time you still have more than a month, 36.5 days, to pig out each year. It is not as hard as it seems but it does require a little discipline, like most things worthwhile.

Spartan discipline came from the fact that the society had strict punishments for those who did not follow the rules....that's if you survived your childhood of course. Unless your trainer is pretty hardcore he/she probably isn't going to punish y...

After watching the movie 300, I deeply admired the Spartans. Partially for their bravery, partially for their teamwork, but most of all for their ridiculously rock hard abs. I want those.
