We all know it is important to eat a balanced diet and this tribe is an open forum to discuss the tastier side of sport. So without any further ado: chicken wings are supposed to be a good recovery meal, discuss...

Be sure to get one that contains whey along with other proteins such as casein, egg or soy. These can be used at any time of the day to provide both fast- and slow-digesting proteins to supply amino acids in both a quick blast and steadily over se...

Stuart V Sports Nutrition Tribe

Contributorbronze Stuart V Hi there, I'm new to this tribe. It seems what you put in your mouth affects everything! Your health, your mood, your energy level and weight. I need help as I kind of know the above but have absolutely no idea how to eat the right stuff. I'm 38 and have just started to jog 3 times a week. I carry about 2 stone too much. Can anyone give me some advice please?

Exercise = good. Twinkies = bad. You know the basics. Follow those and don't get bogged down by details/fad diets/"expert" advice.

It works in the sense that you're getting rid of something that most people regularly eat that contains a decent chunk of calories. If it works for you, great. I know plenty of people who have done it and lost the weight. I personally enjoy my carbs. :)

Really. It in favour of no carbs as I exercise hard and I need to have lots of energy = carbs. Just cut out processed carbs and replace with complex carbs

One of the most enjoyable foods for sportsmen in Brazil. Most acai from Brazil usually have guarana syrup mixed in it so, if you eat it in a regular basis, you just need to take care with the amount of honey you add...

Well each of those things are generally considered pretty healthy individually. No reason they would be unhealthy together. The only iffy thing is if the juice and/or granola is loaded with excess sugar.

Hi all, I've been fasting from 8pm until 11am the following morning for 2 weeks to try and trim down a wee bit as well as for the health benefits. I'm finding it fine and hasn't affected my training (weights or cardio) at all. What I am wondering...

I agree with the advice mentioned above. Your metabolism greatly decreases after 30 and steadly declines unless you take steps to counteract that. It is also important to note that muscle decline also starts to occur...

Most of it has already been said, but you may want to try and switch your main meal to lunch time.  It gives your body more time to digest it before going to bed.  I cook in batches and freeze it, take a box into wor...
