Alan C @alanc4

A Karateka for many years, I took up Triathlon a few years ago (everyone should try a Tri) and whilst working in Australia I took up Dragon Boating. The divisions are by age so being over 50 it was 'interesting' to immediately become a Grand Master without the years of hard work! Core strength and stability is my other passion.

Contributorsilver Rebecca M Morning,

Alan I need some advice please. I didn't run all last week because of my tough mudder on Saturday and I have given my legs a rest yesterday thinking they would be ok by today but they are still extremely sore today. Do you think I should run or am I ok to leave it until Thursday (which I'm deffo running) and Thursday will be the only day I'm running this week cuz I'm away camping after that.

I just don't want to let my running drop for the navy and I'm not sure of almost two weeks off running will so that? Sorry to bother you but I thought you'd know what was best. Thank you.

You probably need to readjust your training plan so you can pick up the running with greater frequency after going camping and make up the distance and speed work.

I will do. I've already started dropping some Tabata training in where I did, 5x (20 second sprint + 10 second walks) with 1 minute rest break and I repeated this 3 times last time I tired it and the distance that I covered doing this was 0.95 miles in 9 minutes. And that's what I'm going to try and do 2 Tabata sessions a week with one long slow jog. These are the best training plans that I could think of.
