I love to run, and just ran my first marathon in November. I prefer trail running. I love hiking and biking too, anything to be outside. The trees and mountain views give me peace and new energy.

Check the labels, different brands have different ingredients. I found that I can't tolerate some, but can use the Cliff shots, because they don't have all the frutose or maltodextrin in them, just organic cane sugar.

See if substituting potassium kicks the sodium craving. You can drink coconut water or eat a banana or some strawberries. It works great for me after a long run where I've sweat a lot!

Tried out a longer run to decide if I wanted to run a marathon this fall. It felt good. I stopped short because it was pretty hot and I hit some hills that just zapped me! I need to plan a better, flatter route.
