That's exactly how I injured myself as well, I started sprinting for the last kilometer two days after a greuling leg day at the gym.  I know better but was feeling unstoppable, turns out I am quite the opposite...dumbass!

Increasing reps and trying to push into the "pain'n'gain" zone and train longer in that zone. Not easy, my mettle is tested with every rep. I sure can feel it today though;)
