My standard workouts involve running, pushups, chinups, and or skipping. I like to fish, hike and camp in my spare time. Working construction 60 plus hours a week doesnt allow for much "spare" time.

Jamie C Spartan Race Training Tribe

Contributorsilver Jamie C 4 weeks from today for Spartan Halifax, getting excited and a little scared. First one. Pulled off a 27:33 5k for the first time ever yesterday though and just did 24 minutes of burpees and kettle bells 2min on 1 minute rest....hoping to really improve over next month. Not looking to win, just looking to not look stupid :-)

Contributorsilver Jamie C There is no question that my body is more capable than at any point in my life, and no point has my mind been this strong to keep me pushing through my comfort zones. When I'm tired I find my running pace get quicker, and when the muscles feel like they want to catch fire I'm adding more reps. I don't even notice it happen. I almost hate to complete it because I am far from being done working on it. A scheduled Spartan Race this year, and a planned half marathon will be my crowning achievements. I might have been thinner when I was 18, but nowhere near the level of muscle and endurance at 41, and no where near the fitness of mind to go and do it!
