John C @kent

What up peeps!!! Been away for a few months!!! Haven't done much since early January - that's what happens when you get a very painful hamstring injury... But been resting until now and picking up weight :-(. But feeling out of sorts, I have begun to start running again and with no pain - Yeah!!! :-). Gonna get the fitness levels up again to run the 2 Oceans half marathon next year and to play IPT action cricket in August for the Free State Province, RSA and to play for the Free State in golf next year!!! Challenge accepted!!! :-)

John C Golf Club Challenge 2014 Challenge

John C Played quite a few bad boys this year all in South Africa
Newcastle golf club - Home course, Not in great shape at the moment
Dundee golf club - a lot of improvements over the last few years
Simbithi eco estate - not bad, a bit overrated and overpriced
Umhlali country club - By far best course I've played this year, best condition I've seen it in in a good 5 - 10 years
Country club Johannesburg - Rocklands course - Superb, just extremely long and extremely difficult
Bloemfontein golf club
Schoemanpark golf club
Kimberley golf club
Koffiefontein golf club - Best green I've played on in years and its a 9 hole course

8 full 18 hole courses down 13 to go!!! challenge accepted!!!

There are some great tracks all around the country but for some really amazing experiences if you come to South Africa, the Garden Route and Cape Town region in the Western Cape has some great courses such as Hermanus, Arabella, Pearl Valley, Pinnacle Point, Simola and many others, and the South coast of Kwa-Zulu Natal is also brilliant. The south coast of Natal runs from Durban to the Wild Coast Sun Casino and all the courses are fantastic - Selborne, Umdoni, Umkomaas, Port Shepstone, Margate, San Lemeer, Southbroom and Wild Coast. My personal favourites are Southbroom and Port Shepstone!!! PS I have 16 courses to go not 13! my bad! Can't count very well!!! hehe!!! Have fun!!!

Alls good but you won't need a lot of saving to do cause the south african economy is at an all time low at the moment. You'll get over 15 South African Rands to the British Pound and because of that the golf courses will not be that expensive to play. Playing top notch courses around the country will cost around 50 pounds a round at most unless you play courses like Leopard Creek (roughly 120 pounds), Pearl Valley and the Links at Fancourt (roughly 70 pounds each). Best value for money is the south coast of natal - Prices range between 250 rand (17 Pounds) and 500 rand (35 Pounds) to play which is fairly cheap and all the courses there are great!!!
