I am getting into longer distance running. I am learning to run efficiently - completed many 'adventure races' and first ultra run (70 miles). Completed the Scotland Coast to Coast twice. Now found 100 mile race for 2013 - The North Downs Way 100. Let the training (and the miles) begin.

Contributorgold Kevan J Signed up for the North Downs way - will be my first 100 miler (did a 70 mile race last year - the Wall). What do you do about eating on such long runs? I have tended to use nut based bars and grab other food at the stations. Good luck with your other races and will check out your website.

What I found is if you can do 70 you can do 100. I always eat Herbalife - fuel is Prolong along with some of our protein bars. Whatever you do I'd suggest you train with it and don't be tempted by anything on the day you have not tried before. Check out the Sunny Blende interviews on www.ultrarunnerpodcast.com - a really good point she makes is how we need to be doing 300 cals an hour from the very start. Graham, Thanks for the info - and will look at this site. The other one was just trying to find people wanting to sell wellness products.
