Ellen D Love cycling too! Nothing compares, glad your back after 27 years. Cat 3 is amazing after so much time off. I'm still a novice cyclist @ 15 months.
I'm a competitive cyclist and ride for North Down CC in Northern Ireland. I'm just back after a 23yr lay off but have worked up to A3 Cat and have trained hard all year. Biggest regret was giving up the bike

Serious training today out on the club run - hard effort all round. 70 miles without stopping..ok, we stopped for a quick pee break but then straight back on it. Needed a run like that to gauge my form. Not bad, but room for improvement.
Michael M Again, over a month I average about 20mph on my commute. So, I reckin I have completed this one too

Commute home - would have been a lovely ride. wind on my back and dry roads but disaster struck in the form of a puncture and then the valve broke off my spare as I was pumping it up. Ah well, good excuse to phone the wife to come and collect me - early home and buns bought to enjoy with a cup of coffee.

Saturday morning club run. Great stop off in Portaferry for soup, sandwiches and a hot port. Great company with all the members of the club. Hard enough ride to get there and home - very windy and cold. Still, Rule 5 of the Veloluminati applies : 'harden the f*ck up'!!
Michael M ROund 5 and round six successfully completed. That's the cyclocross season finished - challenge complete.
