Well the journey continues. It’s been a little over 3 years since it started as a couch potato weighing 150kg (330lb or 23.6 stone). I’ve lost over 40kg (90lb); have nearly 2900 km (1800 miles) of running, over 1000 km (660 miles) of cycling, nearly 30 km (19 miles) of swimming behind me. I’ve completed 12 half marathons (taking my time from 2h47 to 1h59), 2 full marathons (taking 52 minutes off the previous one), a sprint triathlon (had to walk the run due to previous injury), and have a half ironman (Ironman 70.3 Auckland on my 49th birthday – 20 Jan 2013) in a couple of weeks. I’ve had my share of injuries over the 3 years (haven’t been able to run properly due to a calf strain at my last half marathon on 17 Nov 2012). Hence the cycling, of the 1000 km over 500 was in Dec 2012 and the swimming, did a 3.2 km swim this morning in the ocean at 6:30am.
