I would suggest you also do some front body stretches as tight hip flexors can also cause problems. The easiest ones are bridge pose and cobra, I have found these to be a great help and make for a well rounded practi...
Have had a bad back for about a month now and am finally getting back to doing some work. Started walking yesterday (27/11/13) and have had a few gentle yoga sessions in the last couple of weeks. I am seeing an improvement but it still feels like someone has kicked me :-( Aiming to get running soon so have taken some challenges to get the motivation.

Susan S I have had a lot of illness and problems with depression in the last few months and it doesn't seem to be getting any better. I keep trying to get my Yoga practice back on track but the cold I caught scuppered that just as I was getting back to regular practice. As a consequence I am even more depressed and my plans to get running again fell apart as well, so all in all I am fed up!!!!!
