Long retired from team sports, I'm now trying to venture into solo sports for two main reasons; to reach (and then maintain) a decent level of fitness, and for the pure enjoyment of a fresh challenge!
I love being active and meeting new people to play sports with. I'm open to trying new sports as long as you're willing to accept a beginner. I used to run the 4x100 relay in college.
I did judo for several years, stop and want to do it again.
I run, trying my first marathon (SF, July 31), with yoga as a nice counterbalance.
I started running in 2009 just to get fit. In 2010, I ran my first 5k and discovered that I really like to race. No, that's not right, I love to race. Now I am climbing, mostly indoor, twice per week too.
I am a dedicated swimmer. I kitesurf as much as I can, may be 3 times a week average. I surf mainly in the winter and I occasionally run, although it used to be my main sport and did a lot of street races.
I have been super out of shape since going back to a 9-5 3 years ago, and am now determined to exercise 30 mins every day, either biking, cardio at the gym, or walking even when it's hard to make time.
