Hello. I’m the recreational marathoner. My instagram page is @recreationalmarathoner, twitter page @heytolu and Facebook running club page is Falcon Pointe/Pflugerville runners.

I’m an epidemiologist professor by profession, moonlighting as a running coach, I started running marathons in 2016 and have completed eight marathons since. These are large and small scale races, from the 27,000 runner Chevron Houston Marathon to the 500 runner Surfside beach marathon.

I run short and long distances, including 5Ks, 10Ks and half-marathons, but my seasonal training goal is to train for and run at least 5 marathons each year, and to show others that anyone can run or walk a marathon.

Marathon running is a process that requires dedication and focus. There is pain involved, but one must understand and enjoy the process in order to progress. Therefore my mission is to make marathon running look good, not just on paper when writing about the health benefits, but also when running.

I keep my form and smile throughout the race to encourage others not to quit. As the coordinator of the local running club, I’m also mindful of my form when training and running in my neighborhood here in the Austin area of Texas, because of the influence this has on onlookers and participants.

I run with a smile because I enjoy the activity. I want to dispel the notion that running is grueling and I want them to know that they can look very good when in motion and by wearing the Tribe Sports apparel, they are well equipped for the adventure of a lifetime.

As a brand ambassador for Tribe Sports, I would be able to promote Tribe sports during the races I run, where I’m exposed to thousands of runners and spectators.

I’m also able to promote the Tribe Sport brand through my social media posts and updates on my daily training and race activities, using a motivational approach.

I would also integrate public health messaging, which would appeal to a broader audience, as many people are able to relate to posts that infuse everyday health issues which they deal with, or have knowledge of, through a relationship with people that may be affected.

Hi. I’m a runner. I’ve been running a few years now. Im not overly fast. Just a normal runner. I’ve done a couple of halfs and a full marathon and some 10ks. I sometimes do the park run when I’m not working. . This year I’m hitting the gym too, trying to get fitter, faster and healthier. I’m 35 and I’ve got a bit of weight to lose to feel and look fit ?? I also do kungfu and snowboard and I love instagram.
